Middle School Programs for Ages 11-13

Where curious kids become confident, informed, and empowered young citizens.

Get ready for a fast‑paced, eye‑opening week that brings American politics to life. At the Middle School U.S. Politics Camp, students dive into the real forces shaping our country today—through interactive lessons, hands‑on simulations, and lively discussions designed just for middle schoolers.

Throughout the week, campers explore how the U.S. political system actually works behind the scenes. They’ll uncover the roles of Congress, lobbying groups, PACs, elections, and major funders, gaining a realistic understanding of how decisions get made and why politics can feel so divided. Most importantly, they’ll learn how young people can use their voices to make a meaningful impact—at school, in their community, and eventually at the ballot box.

Students will practice respectful dialogue, empathy, and bridge‑building across different viewpoints, developing the skills needed to navigate today’s polarized world with confidence and maturity. The week wraps up with a deep‑dive case study on U.S. immigration, giving campers the chance to apply everything they’ve learned to a complex, real‑world issue.

By the end of the program, your child will walk away with a clearer understanding of American politics, stronger critical‑thinking skills, and the confidence to participate thoughtfully and responsibly in civic life.

Your child will:

● Feel confident sharing informed opinions on local, national, and global issues
● Understand how the U.S. political system really works—not just what textbooks say
● Learn how to use their voice to take action and make a difference in their community
● Discover why their voice, their vote, and their choices matter in a polarized world
● Participate in daily debates and hands‑on political simulations, including:
  - You’re in Congress: Bill-Writing Challenge - where you draft legislation to solve a problem you feel passionate about
  - Creating your own election maps and predict outcomes
  - Create your own election campaign with slogans, a platform, and a funding plan
  - Debate & collaborate with peers who hold different perspectives

Dates:

June 29 - July 3 & July 27 - 31

Get ready for a fast‑paced, immersive week that pulls back the curtain on how American politics really works. At the High School U.S. Politics Camp, students dive into the forces shaping today’s political landscape through dynamic lessons, real‑world simulations, and debates that challenge them to think critically and speak with confidence.

Throughout the week, campers explore the inner workings of the U.S. political system at a deeper level. "My daughter absolutely loved the virtual Summer Camp for Junior High students! Even in an online format, the sessions were interactive, engaging, and well-organized. She developed valuable skills like debating, researching, and understanding global issues—all from the comfort of home. The instructors did a fantastic job keeping the students involved and motivated. She looked forward to every session and has already asked to join the advanced program next year.
