- In MUN students step into the shoes of world leaders to tackle global challenges. They represent different countries, develop skills in research, public speaking, and debate, and gain confidence while making new friends. - Students can do Model UN at the elementary school, middle school, high school, and college levels. Model UN helps students get into top colleges and prepares them for careers in law, diplomacy, government, business, and beyond.
- Your child can start with the beginner level programs at the Virtual Model United Nations Institute or In-Person Day or Overnight MUN Institute this summer. They will learn fundamental skills and experience their first MUN simulation!
- Your child can participate in Model UN conferences during the school year by joining their school’s Model UN club and/or by joining the Best Delegate Model UN Club
- Your child can start their own MUN club at school, attend conferences as an independent delegate, or join the Best Delegate Model UN Club during the school year

The Model UN camp immerses students in global issues, U.S. politics, and diplomacy, helping them enhance their debate and leadership skills while exploring diverse topics and making new friends. The program includes interactive MUN simulations, public speaking labs, trivia, improv games, engaging lessons, and time to socialize. The week culminates in a final simulation on a current global issue, where students represent a country, deliver speeches, debate, and draft resolutions. Parents are invited to observe. - Yes, they are highly recommended to do multiple weeks in order to gain a well-rounded understanding of different world issues and country policies. More importantly, students get to build confidence to speak and lead, connect deeper with their new friends, and gain self-awareness from feedback over multiple weeks.
Your child can move up into new levels during the summer. You are welcome to do the combination of virtual, in person day, and in person overnight camps that works best for your summer schedule!
- Private Coaching is a 1-on-1 personalized experience where a MUN Champion helps your child accelerate their preparation for participating in MUN.
Students will have 2 one-hour sessions with a MUN Mentor, including:

For students who are attending a Virtual MUN Camp their sessions will happen during the week of their camp on Tuesday and Wednesday before or after class.
For Students who are attending an In Person MUN Camp their sessions will occur virtually in the two weeks before camp.
Private Coaching is $149 for 2 one-hour sessions with a MUN Mentor.

- After your student is registered for our program you can expect to receive a confirmation email. Students will receive their class Zoom link and additional information on the Friday before their program begins.
- We recommend students join the Virtual MUN Institute from a computer ideally in a quiet space. In order to improve quality for all students we also recommend students use a headset to ensure they have clear audio and have a working webcam.
- Best Delegate Offers the Following Refund Policy for our Virtual MUN Institute Summer Camps.
- If you request a refund at least 30 days before the first day of the program, you are eligible for a full refund.
- If you request a refund less than 30 days before the first day of the program, you are not eligible for a refund.

- Yes, provided space is still available in the other program and the request is made seven (7) days before your scheduled program.

- Monday-Wednesday is casual (school appropriate) clothing and we recommend Business Casual or Western Business Attire for our final simulation on Thursday and Friday.
- Yes, there will be some short assignments which should take 30 minutes or less to complete such as reading a topic guide or writing a 1 minute speech on a topic. Mentors will fully explain any short assignments to students during camp.
- Yes, we are happy to run private camps for groups of 10 or more students. To learn more, click here.

- Students are welcome to register for multiple weeks but must be picked up at the end of each program day for Day Camp students. Overnight Camp students must be picked up at the end of each program week.
- Lunch is included in both the Day and Overnight programs. Lunch will be a buffet style meal with a salad bar station, sandwich station, numerous hot entrees, and vegan & vegetarian options.
If students have dietary restrictions those should be communicated to us in the student health form so that we can notify cafeteria staff in advance if necessary.
- Limited financial aid is available on a first come first served basis for summer. Please click here to complete our financial aid application.
- Yes! The first 5 students per class save $250. Click here for the code.
- Students can expect to do a maximum of 30 minutes of homework per night, however class time will be allotted to reduce the amount of time students have to spend outside of class hours. Examples of homework may be researching their countries policy on the topic of the week one night or writing opening speeches for in class simulations the next night.
- After your student is registered for our program you can expect to receive a welcome email which outlines all the next steps before attending.
Parents will receive an email with a welcome packet in May (or when they sign up if they sign up after May 1).
Parents will be required to complete medical forms, student information, and to provide proof of vaccination by June 1 (or within 72 hours if they enroll after June 1).
- In Person MUN Institute Refund Policy:
- All In Person Programs have a 50% non-refundable fee at the time of purchase. If you request a refund at least 30 days before the first day of the program, you are eligible for a 50% refund.
- Payment plans will be available with the option to pay 50% up front and the remaining balance 45 days before the start of each program. - All Programs are 100% non-refundable 30 days before the start of each program.
- Parents should email support@bestdelegate.com to cancel programs using the subject line “Summer Camp Cancellation Request.”
- In the unlikely event that one of our campus partners or Best Delegate have to cancel a program at any time before the start of camp, parents will receive a full credit for the value of their program, minus a $250 non-refundable fee for day camp or a $500 non-refundable fee for overnight camp.
- Should Best Delegate or one of our campus partners have to cancel a program mid-session, parents will receive a credit for the remaining value of their program, prorated by day. Parents are responsible for any expenses to pick their child up early from the program.

- Students are welcome to wear casual school appropriate clothing at camp. We will give students a MUN Institute T-shirt that we ask them to wear on Wednesday of the program. We also recommend students wear Business Casual or Western Business Attire on Friday for their final simulation.
- International students are welcome at our program. International students are required to obtain all relevant travel visas and have WHO approved vaccinations.
- We are currently scheduled to run programs in Washington D.C., New York City, Boston, Berkeley, Los Angeles, and New Jersey. We may be adding additional locations for this summer and if we do we will be sure to email all parents and students on our email list.

- Yes! Parents and Guardians are welcome to observe our final MUN Simulation on the Friday of the Program.
- Students will receive a complete packing list in their welcome packet. Recommended items include a backpack with your computer (or tablet), Pens, Pencils, a notepad, water bottle, and any medication taken during the day. Students are also encouraged to wear their new MUN Institute T-Shirt we will provide on the Wednesday of camp and to wear business casual or Western Business Attire on the Friday of the program.

- Students can be dropped off each morning at a predetermined location which will be communicated to parents at least 1 week before the program starts.
- Drop off every morning of the program will begin at 8:45 am and run until 9 am.
- Pick up will be in the same location at 5pm and run until 5:15pm each day.
- Parents will be required to provide a list of who is allowed to pick their child up.
- With parental approval, students ages 14 and older will be able to self-checkout and into the program each day.

- Student arrival at the program will be between 4-5pm on the Sunday of their program.
- Student Departure will be between 10am-11am the following Saturday.
- If your student would like to get picked up and/or dropped off at the airport, that can be arranged for a fee (see "What is the Airport Pick Up & Drop Off Optional Add-On?").
- MUN Institute Staff can pick up & drop off Overnight MUN Camp students at the airport for a fee. We ensure that your students safely arrive at our program.
- During pick up, we meet students at baggage claim; during drop off, we bring them to the entrance. We only escort students to their gate if they are registered as an Unaccompanied Minor with their airline & if we are notified in advance. We charge an additional fee, as one of our staff has to go through security & wait with your child.
- Student must arrive between 1pm-5pm and depart between 8am-12:00nn.

- Students will enjoy dinner in the campus dinning hall with their friends and have the opportunity to participate in evening programming facilitated by our residential counselors.
Examples of evening programs include: Trivia Night, Board Game Night, Movie Night, Frisbee Night, and MUN Final Simulation preparation night.
At all times, a dedicated team of trained educators and mentors will be made even more accessible to your student, providing them with the opportunity to form even deeper and more-lasting friendships, all while taking home an even more memorable experience!
- Students will receive dinner on the Sunday they check-in, 3 meals a day Monday through Friday and breakfast before they check out on Saturday in the dining hall on campus.
Meals will be buffet style with stations such as a salad bar, burgers and fries, pizza, vegetarian and vegan station, sandwich options and more.
If students have dietary restrictions those should be communicated to us in the student health form in advance.
- Yes, students are welcome to submit friend requests and we will do our best to accommodate them. Friend requests can be submitted on the student information form which will be included in the welcome packet
